All participants must be aged 18+
No prior knowledge required
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
Understand the potential impact of working with children who have experienced trauma
Recognise what vicarious trauma and burnout can look like
Develop a self-care plan, tailored to their own specific needs and strengths
Why do it?
Working with children who have experienced trauma or supporting children and families that are involved with child protection can be challenging and this can have an impact on staff wellbeing. Often self care is reactive, we have a stressful day at work and then do something to make ourselves feel better (eat a block of chocolate, go for a walk, call a friend for a vent). This workshop will assist participants to take a proactive approach to self care.
